Hi all. Firstly, I'm curious about how much you know about the German parliament and what happened lately, and if you know something, what do you think of it? I mean - everyone here talks about American or English government, so I thought - why not talk about Germany because what's going down there at the moment is very interesting.
Basically (and this is all I say before I ask you), chancelor Schröder wants a new election, even though it should be in 2006, not now. Do you know why? And do you know other things about it, and what are your opinions?

Well basically (I will say a bit more now) there was a big misstrust about our chancelor and a new one should be ellected (or the old one again if there is enough trust). Basically at the moment there are a few TV-duels between the two candidates. One of them is a woman but she's more a beast than a woman, instead of argumenting she just insults the other party and this is not a real good way to get attention. And if the party of the woman wins, they may stop giving subventions. Which means the benefits for the blind will not exist anymore which means we will not be able to get important aids (like jaws, braillewatches and other important things).
I know earlier I didn't really care but as I am obliged to ellect now since I am 18, I have to be interested in it and so I have an opinion now. It was a tough decision now since all the parties promise a lot of things which they don't seem to keep.

I heard that an election was due but I'm not sure if it happened. The government in power before the election was predicted to lose it.
